Workplace Investigations Seminar

This program will take attendees through the steps of a well-managed workplace investigation from the perspectives of a former EEOC Investigator, a Lawyer, and an HR professional. It begins with the vital importance of sufficient preparation including determining when an investigation is needed and creating a plan. It is followed by thorough discussion of the elements of a solid investigation process. A poor investigation role play illustrates the where Investigations can go wrong and helps emphasize key points. The process concludes with the critical stage of closure, specifically final report documentation and follow up after the investigation. The program wraps up with a panel Q&A.

Legislative Update: New OT Rule Effective January 1, 2020
On September 24th the Department of Labor announced a final rule to make employees who make less than $35,568 are now eligible for overtime pay. The new rate will take effect Jan. 1, 2020.
The new rule will raise the salary threshold to $684 a week ($35,568 annualized) from $455 a week ($23,660 annualized). It is expected to prompt employers to reclassify more than a million currently exempt workers to nonexempt status and raise pay for others above the new threshold.
