Dear LSHRM Members,

As I suspected 2022 has passed in a flash and my LSHRM presidency has almost come to an end. And as I knew with many LSHRM committed volunteer leaders and awesome members we have much to be proud of.

Our theme for this year was a Compassion Reset for our LSHRM Members and the community and businesses we support!  With guidance from our Compassion Reset Advisory Committee we have been able to offer stellar programs, collaborating with impressive partners, and connecting creatively for networking and wellness.

One such program was the idea of a Book Club however in lieu of a formal book club the Compassion Advisory Team agreed to prepare a list of books and references that our LSHRM members might have an interest in reading. These suggested books will be featured monthly in our 2023 LSHRM LightPost. Not sure what that will look like here is our teaser on one such book recommendation:

Awakening Compassion at Work: The Quiet Power That Elevates People and Organizations

Warm regards and much compassion,

Contact Kelly if interested at kgroves@lshrm.org. Our next orientation will be scheduled for February 2023. Happy Holidays!

The December LSHRM Career Advancement Program will be December 12 at 6:00 p.m.  The topic will be Self-Care in the Job Search with our speaker Annetta Hunter, LSHRM President-Elect.  Job hunting and job loss is stressful, as is the loss of income and self-worth. On average, it takes about 6 months to land a new job. No one should be living under stress for that long, which is why it’s important to engage in self-care during the job search. Self-care can make your job search more effective.
