The esteemed speakers will be DeVone Holt of Goodwill Industries, Louisville, KY and Josh Miller, Co-Founder of IdeasX Labs. This is one event you won’t want to miss! \n\nThe principle of Stewardship calls one to abandon his or her self-interest to serve others. Sounds like a tall order, but many members of LSHRM are doing just that.
\n\nIn response to our recent request for feedback about volunteer activities and acts of Compassion, we learned that much is being done by HR professionals to benefit our community.
\n\nHere are some of the Stewardship activities and acts of Compassion:
\n\nMentoring high school students.
\nProviding free winter coats to immigrants and refugees.
\nOffering pro bono resume writing services and interview training to those in employment transition.
\nSupporting fundraising efforts for local churches.
\nDonating to missions and ministries supporting various causes.
\nTending to the needs of the homeless with food and clothing donations.
\nCaring for grandchildren so parents can go off to work.
\nServing on various boards to advance laudable causes.
\nGuiding efforts that advance the stewardship and leadership skills of HR professionals and others.
\nSupporting Dare to Care, Metro United Way, Cedar Lake, and other organizations to benefit those in need.
\nHelping to advance the mission of various organizations such as Girl Scouts, the Lincoln Foundation, and various professional organizations.
There is SO MUCH to love about LSHRM. If your membership is expiring, take time to renew. If you are not a member, now is a great time to join. Take advantage of great programming and ways to advance your profession.
