“Engaged, Empowered and Aligned: Strategies for a New Workplace”

Hello Dear Members!

I want to send a huge shout out to the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee for hosting its first big event of 2023! "Authenticity: The Quality of Being YOU" The event was phenomenal! We had two wonderful speakers, Josh Miller of IdeasX Labs and DeVone Holt of Goodwill Industries. The topics were very moving and thought provoking; making you realize that you do not have to be of a different race, creed or color to fit into the categories discussed that evening because we have all experienced some form of “Covering” in our lives. The ultimate message was to live your true authentic self and celebrate your individuality!

The next evening Kelly Groves hosted one of the largest New Member Orientation meetings in quite a while! We had around 66 members registered to attend. It was held at the Texas Roadhouse Corporate offices, and we were even treated to our own concert! Great job Kelly and her committee! Be sure to sign up for our upcoming Chapter meeting on March 14, 2023 titled, HR Strategy: The Blueprint to Your HR Vision. I hope we have as many attendees as last month, when we had a full house and a fantastic topic to discuss, on “Compassion in the Workplace.” We had giveaways and drawings at the end, so stay tuned for more of that this year!

March onto the LSHRM website to renew your membership or join LSHRM!

Many LSHRM members have had their LSHRM Membership lapse during January and February. Make sure you take time to renew while you are making your brackets. 

If you are not a member, now is a great time to join. Take advantage of great programming and ways to advance your profession. Join LSHRM to connect with other HR professionals and attend monthly HR programming. Earn recertification credits by joining us at our Monthly Chapter Meetings and come to fun HR Connects.

LSHRM Memberships are only:

  • $50 a year for LSHRM membership with SHRM membership

  • $80 a year for LSHRM membership

  • $15 a year for LSHRM student membership

New Member Orientation locations needed

Would your business like to host our new member orientations? For hosting our group for a free or reduced rate, you can speak with the group about your business and what you can do for LSHRM members and your logo will be marketed on all promotions.
