Anne Gardner Darku will discuss causes and symptoms of burnout and the impact it can have on the individual and the organization. She will share strategies HR leaders can employ to combat burnout, increase engagement, and create a culture of wellbeing.

Anne Gardner Darku, E-RYT®200, RYT®500, YACEP®

Senior Learning & Development Specialist, Norton Healthcare

As a Senior Learning and Development Specialist, Anne serves Norton employees at all levels through one-to-one coaching and collaborative team sessions. Through  supporting the growth and development of staff and teams in the system, Anne drives retention and satisfaction of employees, ultimately leading to improved care for our patients. She is a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths coach, and holds certifications in DISC and Predictive Index.

Norton Healthcare is one of the largest health care systems in the region providing care at more than 211 locations throughout Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana, including six hospitals; 18 Norton Immediate Care Centers; 17,000+ employees; more than 1,600 employed medical providers and approximately 2,000 total physicians on its medical staff.

Anne transitioned to Norton Healthcare in 2021 after most recently working in community leadership development for adults and youth. She is a 500 Hour certified yoga and mindfulness instructor who draws on her years of improvisation experience in Chicago and even toured the country performing with a theatre company for a year. She is passionate about emotional intelligence, cultural humility and values-based embodied leadership. Any session with Anne includes elements of all of these experiences for the participants.

Anne holds a BA in organizational communication and theatre from Murray State University and is currently in pursuit of her Masters in Leadership from the University of Evansville, to be completed December 2023.
