Workplaces need to be safe spaces for ALL, and with recent setbacks, our progress in DEIB will likely suffer greatly. It’s important for HR professionals to understand how these issues impact us and our employees at the deepest levels for real understanding.

The meeting will be July 17, 6:00-7:00 p.m. via Zoom.  You do NOT need to read the book unless you want to. The group facilitator(s) for the month will read the book and report out the key points and any meaningful takeaways, stories, etc., from the book. The purpose of these sessions is to get members thinking and talking about social justice issues at work. The facilitators will provide key points from the book via a handout. Also included in the handout will be online resources from SHRM or other agencies members can have as a takeaway.

The book for July (Disability Pride Month) will be Positively Purple: Build an Inclusive World Where People with Disabilities Can Flourish by Kate Nash.  Janice Baldon-Gutter of the Southeast ADA Center will facilitate.
