Presentation #1:

Culture is workplace behavior defined by the values, behavior and mindset of senior leadership. Utilizing a proven, strategic process, developing a healthy culture can be achieved with the cooperation and commitment of every member of your Leadership Team.  This system has been successfully implemented in a variety of organizations over the past ten years, with leaders reporting sustained results and continued improvements year after year.

This program discusses a path for leadership to follow that attracts and retains today’s
top talent.  It explains how to build and sustain a foundation for workplace culture that
supports maximizing the performance of your organization and the success of everyone on your team.

The Best Places to Work in KY program has recognized leading employers in the Commonwealth for 20 years. What’s all the hype about the Best Places to Work program and what does it take to become recognized as a Kentucky Best Place to Work? Join us as we delve into the experiences of workplaces throughout Kentucky, exploring their paths to success and offering distinctive strategies to enhance workforce engagement. Our discussion will cover the application process, insights into engaging your workforce in the survey, and fun ways to celebrate the BPW designation with your employees upon achieving victory.

Facilitated by Candra Bryant, the Best Places to Work Director for the Kentucky SHRM state council and the BPTW and State Conference chair for the Bluegrass SHRM chapter. 

Presentation Learning Objectives 

Participants will:

1) Understand the research and benefits of the Best Place to Work program, including the opportunity to improve engagement, retention, and recruitment efforts

2) Understand the benefits of an employee satisfaction survey, items included within a standard survey, and actionable steps to take upon receiving the results

3) Be provided tangible ideas and programs to improve employee satisfaction and engagement

Jeff Peden, M.Ed. is an International Speaker, Workplace Culture Expert, and Author. His second book—How to Grow Your Business Without Spending Money—focuses on Four Core Strategies™ that increase performance, productivity, and revenues, while lowering operating costs. He is currently at work on his third book, How to Create
a Great Place to Work.

Jeff works with leaders who want to build healthy workplace cultures and Great Places
to Work that dramatically increase engagement and morale, communication, collaborative problem-solving, and mutual support throughout the entire organization.
Involved with a variety of clients over the past ten years, he has developed a proven
process to help leaders define, design, and implement a healthy workplace culture built on values and observable behaviors that reflect each value in action and support the best interests of everyone in the organization. The success of the process relies on
experientially learning new behaviors using accountability, team member assignments, and progress reports.

Jeff is a member of the Radcliff Rotary Club, Past President of the Kentuckiana Chapter of the Association for Talent Development, and past Chair of the University of Louisville Libraries Associates. He has volunteered his services to DECA, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He has graduate degrees in both Training & Development and Counseling. His Moment of Success aired on radio station WKJK 1080 in Louisville for over five years. He lives in Radcliff, KY with his wife, Nancy, and their pets Missy, Schroeder, and Jack the Cat. He loves reading books, fishing, playing golf, and hiking in the great outdoors.

Candra leads operations for Hanna Resource Group, an HR-focused consulting firm focused on building better businesses and developing ‘Best Places to Work’.  Candra has an extensive background leading and supporting HR engagements as a corporate HR leader and a consultant in organizations within both the public and private sectors.  

In addition to her work with Hanna Resource Group, Candra has also held a variety of corporate HR roles, including serving as an HR leader for a commercial real-estate firm, leading HR for a large, international food brokerage company, and establishing the compensation program for a national third-party logistics organization. Candra currently serves as the Best Places to Work Director for the Kentucky SHRM state council and the BPW and State Conference chair for the Bluegrass SHRM chapter.
